* Ruchira Kulkarni
Ruchira’s approach to family law goes beyond courtroom advocacy. She works to resolve conflict in ways that put children’s and clients’ interests first, aiming for solutions that provide clarity, grounded strategy, and respect for each family’s circumstances. When resolution isn’t possible, she draws on her litigation background to advocate effectively in court.
Called to the Ontario Bar in 2016 after earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, Ruchira articled at a boutique Toronto firm specializing in family and estate litigation. She then gained litigation experience as a criminal defence lawyer, appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Court of Appeal. Since 2019, she has practiced exclusively in family law, representing clients in parenting disputes, support claims, property division, and domestic contracts.
Detail-oriented and candid, Ruchira is known for cutting through complexity and giving clients clear, practical advice. She does not encourage unnecessary conflict or positions that serve appearances and increase costs. Clients can expect her to be direct and honest—even when the advice is difficult—while always keeping the best interests of children and families at the forefront.
Ruchira integrates a global perspective and sensitivity to cultural nuances into her practice. She is fluent in Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, and Urdu, understands Punjabi, and is currently learning Korean and Spanish. Outside of her practice, she enjoys travel, photography, and coffee.
